Love Doesn’t Hurt

Love itself doesn’t hurt. It is the rejection, the lies, the condescending play on emotions, the cheating, the lack of respect, the lack of compassion, the lack of truth. Those are the things that hurt us when we love someone deeply.
You have to know that the heart can’t help who it loves just as it can’t help who it doesn’t. It doesn’t make you a bad person or signal that something is wrong with you or them.
When people say love yourself and be good with who you are before looking to find love elsewhere, they’re not saying your life has to be all peachy. They are saying know your worth and don’t take less from anyone. Don’t let anyone make you feel as though you are not enough.
Rich or poor, love is more valuable than gold.
